President Bush announced that stimulus payments will be issued faster than previously announced. Tax filers who chose direct deposit can start receiving their payments as soon as April 28th.

I’ve updated the payment table from my original article on the stimulus payments below. You’ll notice that the last payment coincides with the Independence Day holiday, a coincidence I’m sure.

Direct Deposit Payments
If the last two digits of your Social Security number are: Your economic stimulus payment deposit should be sent to your bank account by:
00 – 20 April 28
21 – 75 May 5
76 – 99 May 12
Paper Check
If the last two digits of your Social Security number are: Your check should be in the mail by:
00 – 09 May 9
10 – 18 May 16
19 – 25 May 23
26 – 38 May 30
39 – 51 June 6
52 – 63 June 13
64 – 75 June 20
76 – 87 June 27
88 – 99 July 4

Announcement Details

President Bush announced that about 130 million households should receive a payment of some kind. That’s pretty amazing since the 2000 census only measured 105,480,101 households.

The president went on to talk about the stimulus’s affect on the economy:

This money is going to help Americans offset the high prices we’re seeing at the gas pump and at the grocery store, and it will also give our economy a boost to help us pull out of this economic slowdown.

Why the faster payments? According to this CNN Money article, Andrew DeSouza, a Treasury spokesman, said that a new computer program allows the Treasury to update records daily instead of weekly.

DeSouza said the Treasury will distribute $100 billion (100,000,000,000) to those previously mentioned 130 million households.

If you haven’t filed your tax return yet, you’ll want to do so as soon as possible if you want your stimulus payment. Remember, you may be eligible to file for free. If you have further questions on the stimulus package you can check out my stimulus payment Q&A article.

If you have questions make sure you ask it in the comment section below and I will do my best to help you find an answer.

    Lisa,
It may take some time to post to your account.

    Lisa,
If you received a notice from the irs you are getting one unless you owe taxes, have student loans or another debt that they may apply it to. In that case, they will send you a letter as to how they applied the rebate.

Im so confused! There are so many schedules of this stimulus payment that I don’t know which one to believe! On MSN http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/Taxes/Advice/SeeWhenYouWillGetATaxRebateCheck.aspx It states that all direct deposit payments will be done by May 2nd, and the rest have different dates. Does anyone know anything about this new program that the IRS is using that updates daily instead of weekly? I’ve seen it somewhere that with that new program, the week dates are going to daily because of the new software….

  6. Chris on April 29, 2008 5:37 pm

    Sheila,
I checked that article and it says:
“Rebate distributions will be staggered between now and July for those who filed tax returns by the April 15 deadline. Those who filed for an extension will get checks as well, the IRS, but they’ll face a delay of about two weeks.”

But I agree it is confusing.

  7. Sheila on April 29, 2008 5:45 pm

I think MSN is very misleading because of it’s comment with the “all direct deposits sent by May 2nd”…. I wasn’t holding my breath! LOL… It would have been nice to get it before Mother’s Day.

An entire revised timetable for rebate distribution wasn’t available, so some of the following dates could be moved up.

    Rebate delivery schedule
Direct-deposit payment All sent by May 2
    Paper check
If the last two digits of your Social Security number are: Your tax rebate check should be in the mail by:
    00-09 May 16
    10-18 May 23
    19-25 May 30
    26-38 June 6
    39-51 June 13
    52-63 June 20
    64-75 June 27
    76-87 July 4
    88-99 July 11

There may be exceptions, the IRS warned. “A small percentage of tax returns will require additional time to process and to compute a stimulus payment amount. For these returns, stimulus payments may not be issued in accordance with the schedule above, even if the tax return was processed by April 15,” the IRS said.

i think it really does not make any since to have a emerald card if its not consider as a bank account and cant even get a irs check or rebate and your connected to the directly besides h&r block.. i had this card since 2004 and now this.crap!

  10. Dave on April 30, 2008 9:18 am

I agree that the moving dates are confusing. Some of the language is confusing too. For example, I filed my tax return in February. Does this mean that I will get my stimulus payment sooner than someone who filed their tax return on April 15th - regardless of what my social security number is? Or are the dates really dictated by the social security numbers? or ????

  11. Chris on April 30, 2008 9:33 am

    Dave,
It’s supposed to be based on your SSN only.

The payments started on April 28th. They will continue through the week so I’d wait until the end of the week.

  14. Sheila on April 30, 2008 10:53 am

I called the IRS and asked them about my 2006 1040x and also about this “famous” stimulus payment…. customer service said “the first roll out of payments for the first set of ssn’s are being this week and will be posted by May 2nd, the 2nd set will be done thru out next week and so on” She also went on to tell me that “yes they have a new software program that is allowing them to update daily but all it’s doing is allowing them to break up the payments for the first set through the entire week instead of doing all of them on one day” Their schedule is just that a schedule they are trying to stay in tune with but, when it says by May 2nd they do mean “by” May 2nd… She also said that there are many conflicting media stories going around that are confusing people and that is not their fault. She said that if there is a change in their “by” dates that it would be posted on their website and on the letter you will or have received about the rebate. Hope this helps :*)

  15. Dave on April 30, 2008 11:56 am

This still leaves some questions in my mind on start dates and end dates… according to the chart above, my check should be direct deposited by May 5th. Is that the beginning date or the end date for the deposit run? Could I get it at any time between now and the 5th or ???

  16. Helen on April 30, 2008 12:59 pm

I dont understand whats going on because first they said the president had them done early so everyone getting direct deposit would get it no later than friday and next week they start mailing checks If anyone got theres and theres social security number ends in the last two digits that was supposed to get theres may 9 please let me know

  17. Sheila on April 30, 2008 1:06 pm

Here is how I took the conversation with the IRS…In reality the dates really have not changed from the http://www.irs.gov the only thing that changed is the fact that they are sending payments each day except Thursday of this week. Instead of everyone having their rebates on the same day the first run is being broke up by sending some payments each day this week except Thursday and all of the first run of rebates will be posted by May 2nd depending on how your bank deposits. The 2nd run’s payments will all be posted by the 9th and the 3rd run will all be posted by the 16th. If they continue to do the daily send of the deposits and your in the 2nd run you will have it anytime between May 5th and May 9th depending on where your numbers are in that processing time frame. I even gave the customer service my understanding of what she told me in my words and she said yes you are correct. We are in the 3rd run and will have ours in our account by the 16th. She said that everyone is taking this new software program and making it look like everyone will have their payments earlier and she said that is not the case it still falls within the published dates at http://www.irs.gov

  18. Shanice on April 30, 2008 1:27 pm

My last two end in 06 and i have not received my stimulus check yet…bank doesnt show any information.

  19. Peter on April 30, 2008 2:26 pm

    Here is directly from http://www.irs.gov
    DIRECT DEPOSIT
Last two SSN digits: Payments will be transmitted no later than:
    00 through 20 May 2
    21 through 75 May 9
    76 through 99 May 16
Paper checks will also go out based on Social Security number. For Social Security numbers ending in 00 through 09, the paper checks will be mailed starting May 9 and will continue through May 16. A similar process will be repeated in the following weeks.
    PAPER CHECK
Last two SSN digits: Payments will be mailed no later than:
    00 through 09 May 16
    10 through 18 May 23
    19 through 25 May 30
    26 through 38 June 6
    39 through 51 June 13
    52 through 63 June 20
    64 through 75 June 27
    76 through 87 July 4
    88 through 99 July 11
People who file a return after April 15 will receive their economic stimulus payment, but probably about two weeks later than the schedule shows. A return must be filed by October 15 in order to receive a stimulus payment this year. See the online calculator for an estimate of the amount you will receive.

Anyone can get their payments earlier than the posted date, it just depends on when they send the direct deposit or check. This is just a “no later than schedule” as Shelia said above. I got the same information from customer service.

  20. anthony on April 30, 2008 5:06 pm

My ssn ends in 05 and have not got mine yet either, I called irs and she said I will have it no later than Friday, and as far as the notices in the mail are concerned only about half of the population got them to let them know if they were getting a check and how much, she said it was just to much to do along with sending out checks to everyone.

  21. Chris on April 30, 2008 6:29 pm

  22. elaine on April 30, 2008 10:06 pm

Ppople need to also understand that if you did a rapid refund, you will get a paper check. I have heard some around where I live in NC say that they can still get a direct deposit. No, you are going to get the check via the USPS.

my ss# ends in 14 and i still not get my stimulus payment with direct deposit yet.

  24. Dave on May 1, 2008 7:49 am

So, the short of this is that there is NO clear early payment schedule and the chart above is not correct. More smoke and mirrors from the White House.

  25. Sean on May 1, 2008 10:38 am

Does it matter what type of account it is for the direct deposit? If you had your tax return direct deposited onto a H&R Block card will the stimulus go there or will you have a check mailed to you?

  26. Chris on May 1, 2008 11:05 am
  27. Crystal on May 1, 2008 3:29 pm

For those of you who used TurboTax and received your refund direct deposit but from SBBT this is the response I got to answer how I will receive my refund…We have been notified by the IRS that we will not be receiving the stimulus
payments. You should be receiving it directly from the IRS via mail. If for some reason
we do receive it, we will disburse the funds in the same method in which we sent your
income tax refund, at no additional fee. We will not be offering any bank products for
    the stimulus rebate.
This came directly from SBBT so unfortunately if you are like me, even though we elected for direct deposit, we will have to wait for our checks to be mailed!

  28. sarah on May 1, 2008 3:46 pm

so my ss# ends in 16 and we filed on feb52008, was processed by march 1st with direct deposit. if i dont recieve my money in my account by tomorrow may 2nd like it says”no later than May 2nd” for direct deposit and ss#00-20 than should i start to worry or what. cuz im already worrying

  29. anson on May 1, 2008 4:02 pm

My ssn ends in 08 and I have yet to receive any deposit. I filed my taxes via HR BLOCK.com and opted for direct deposit.
I didn’t get the loan, didn’t use the “emerald card” Just a regular e-file and direct deposit.
It appears that you must be the account holder in order for your stimulus check to be direct deposited. The account that I used belongs to my fiancé. It will be interesting to see just how I receive my payment.
I’ll keep posted on here and let everyone know. Perhaps it will be just a little piece of mind for someone else in my situation.
Has anyone in the first round actually received a payment ? It seems as if no one has yet ?

  36. Kristin on May 2, 2008 8:14 am

Just to clarify, that only send your check to your student loan if it is past due. Scared me so I had to go look. My loan is up to date so they won’t be getting it. Also if you owe back child support you are screwed!

  37. Chris on May 2, 2008 8:26 am

    Brian,
You’d have to contact the IRS with that question.

  38. Chris on May 2, 2008 8:26 am

They will start May 5th. But there is not guarantee you will receive it that soon.

  42. Sheila on May 2, 2008 10:13 am

Yeehaw!! Just for your info….IRS has updated their website to include “WHERE IS MY STIMULUS PAYMENT” visit https://sa2.www4.irs.gov/irfof/IRServlet?app=IRACTC and enter your info and if your scheduled you will see the amount you are getting and so forth.

  43. Crystal on May 2, 2008 10:43 am

    Deborah,
If you are owed past due child support the non-custodial parents stimulus check will be offset for that debt. As with a tax refund, it may take some time for it to go throught the system. Unfortunately if the NCP is like my ex and doesnt file taxes he wont get a stimulus. Good Luck!!!

  44. Carrol on May 2, 2008 10:44 am

My last 2 digits end in 01. However, my money has not appeared. Is there any reason why I would not have received my money yet. Please advise. Worried in VA Beach.

  45. anson on May 2, 2008 10:48 am

I just got word that my stimulus check was direct deposited into my fiancé’s account this morning.
To re-cap, I filed in march, with HR Block, no refund loan , no emerald card, and my income tax refund was direct deposited into my fiancé’s account, my SSN ended in 08.
Maybe that will give a little piece of mind to some out there !
    Good luck everyone !

  46. Crystal on May 2, 2008 11:09 am

Ive checked out the “Where is my Stimulus Payment?” and it says there is no info available for me or anyone that I know of. Has anyone been able to get their status on it yet? Or is it too new and hasn’t updated with everyone’s info?

  47. Crystal on May 2, 2008 11:11 am

    Anson,
Did you have your filing fees deducted from your return or did you pay them up front? I used TurboTax and had my fees deducted from the refund but had direct deposit and they are telling me I have to wait for a check in the mail.

  48. NY on May 2, 2008 11:16 am

Hey crystal, yeah I used it too and it isn’t working :[

Scares me because now I’m worried I’m not getting anything lol

  49. Crystal on May 2, 2008 11:22 am

    NY,
Ive checked it for everyone in my family and its not giving any info. I think it is too new…maybe the infor isnt actually in the system yet. I can get to it from the link above but I cant yet find it on the IRS website so maybe it wasnt meant to use so early..I dont know???

  50. anson on May 2, 2008 11:22 am

    Don’t worry too much !
I used the IRS “wheres my check” deal and it told me that there was no info available. I did still get my stimulus check direct deposited this morning though.
I know it’s tough, but have some patience. The first round of checks should be deposited by the end of the day. Today is the last day for the first batch.
Even though there were sites saying that the first round was going out on the 28th, the IRS site still says that may 2nd is the last day for the first batch.
I’m sure you will all see them by the end of the day today (if you are entitled , and have done everything the same as I)

  51. Crystal on May 2, 2008 11:24 am

    Anson,
Did you have your fees deducted from your refund? I posted a question for you above.

  52. darlene on May 2, 2008 11:26 am

I had my fees taken out of my RAL loan through H&R so Im not sure if they will still D.D. my check or not…I gave my routing no. though so maybe

  53. Crystal on May 2, 2008 11:30 am

According to the IRS if you received an RAL you will get a check in the mail. But mine was not an RAL it was just e-filing with Turbotax but I had the fees deducted so Im really confused on whether I will get it direct deposit or in the mail.

  54. Michael on May 2, 2008 11:47 am

    Sorry I left that out.
    Michael

  57. Nikki on May 2, 2008 1:06 pm

I filed my tax return and got it the first week of February direct deposit. I inquired as to when I was going to get my stimulus payment and it said to check back in two weeks, no information available, and my last two of my social is 21. I didnt get a second notice, all my student loans or current, it says I should receive it by May 9th, what bothered me is they have no information to give me. What should I do, is this unusual?

  58. Crystal on May 2, 2008 1:23 pm

It seems to me that the only ones who can get info on the status are those who are getting DD. I thought I was but now Im not sure because of using TurboTax. I wouldnt worry, I checked it for everyone in my family and a few friends and it tells them there must be a mistake. I think it just doesnt update until your refund is actaully issued.

  59. Ashley on May 2, 2008 1:40 pm

Michael - Okay, so now I am really concerned. I tried the link today with both mine and my husbands info and got no information at all. I should be in the second batch too. Is anyone else getting this message? I also haven’t been able to find the actual link on teh IRS website, either. This whole thing is turning out to be very stressful! I wish they wouldn’t have told us ahead of time so I wouldn’t have already planned how I”m spending every last penny! Although… then I’d probably just be stessin’ about where I would get rent from since I’m broke!! :)

  60. Ashley on May 2, 2008 1:47 pm

Okay, I just found the actual page on teh IRS website using the search function. Here’s what I found: http://www.irs.gov/individuals/article/0,,id=181665,00.html
It says that information is not available until the payment is actually scheduled. I am going to check back tomorrow to see if next weeks payments will maybe update in the system tonight.

  63. Michael on May 2, 2008 3:52 pm

    Ashley,
That must be it. My payment is scheduled for Monday so that’s why the link just worked for me. I’m xxx-xx-xx33, I filed with turbo tax free file through the irs site for no charge. My return was accepted 2/2 got the DD 2/8.
I got excited when I read ALL ES DD’s by May 2.
I checked the bank account every hour all morning. I guess for us 2nd wavers the party doesn’t start until next week.OH FUDGE!

  64. Crystal on May 2, 2008 4:40 pm

    Kristyn,
    Your payment will be mailed!

  65. Michael on May 2, 2008 4:56 pm

  67. Dave on May 2, 2008 5:55 pm

I logged in to the link referenced above and it worked - it said DD next Monday. For my taxes, I used Turbo Tax, filed electronically and paid my fees up front.

  71. Crystal on May 2, 2008 8:36 pm

I know it doesnt seem fair. If I had known I would have paid my fees up front!

  72. Kristyn on May 2, 2008 10:33 pm

That bites. Oh well. I wish they would put all this on the IRS web site. Instead of just saying “If your taxes were direct deposit your rebate will be too”

  73. Stacy on May 2, 2008 11:28 pm

My ssn ends in 01. I filed electronically on Feb 5th (no fees taken out, refund was direct deposited). Website says I’m going to get it today, May 2nd, which agrees with schedule. It is almost midnight and I have received NOTHING. Do not trust that schedule, do not trust the info under “where’s my stimulus payment”, do not make plans according to the schedule. This whole rebate stuff has been slapped together without enough time to get it organized properly. Just allow yourself to be “pleasantly surprised” when you suddenly have a little extra money in your account or a check in the mail. (Funny how we are penalized when we cannot meet the government’s schedule, but they do not have to keep to their own schedules. I’m just sayin’.)

  74. jdawg122 on May 3, 2008 1:46 am

for the ppl who got the website like to work..did it say u actually are getting ur check DD or that it is getting issued? i did mine DD thru efile and didn’t get mine! It says that it will be issued on may 9th!

  75. kelly on May 3, 2008 1:50 am

OK so i know my payment is comming by check cuz i did turbo tax had them take it out of my refund.. but has the mailing of the checks moved up a week too? IRS site says the 16th others say the 9th for the first batch..

My SSN ends in 04. Supposedly all payments from numbers ending 00-20 should have been transmitted by yesterday, but so far nothing is showing up in my account. I used direct deposit when filing my taxes in late January. Can I expect to actually see this posting on Monday the 5th?

  77. Tracy on May 3, 2008 7:01 am

Okay so I guess since I filed with Taxslayer and had the fees taken from my refund my check won’t be DD but instead mailed on May 16th. Well that BITES! Was expecting it yesterday and paid bills from a paycheck on Wednesday. Was hoping that would be DD yesterday so I can get a bunch of groceries. Now I guess I’ll have to borrow $100 from someone just to get me to my next paycheck on May 14th. Darn them :o) How misleading!

  78. anthony on May 3, 2008 10:01 am

my ssn is 05 and i recieved mine, if you didnt recieve yours and yours and you ssn was 00-20 you might have owed back taxes, child support, or you might not have qualified, but if you know you qualify and you dont get it by tuesday (could need to process through your bank) than you should be worried and call the irs, at 1-800-829-1040, stay on the line without pressing any buttons and you will be transfered to a representitive who will be able to give you some answers.

  79. anthony on May 3, 2008 10:23 am

Just so everyone know’s the Where is my stimulus payment link on irs.gov will not work for you if your stimulus check has not been processed. It cannot provide any info to you until the irs has processed your check, more than likely you should check the irs the week your check is to be sent out, because until then there is know information available.

  82. Sherri on May 3, 2008 7:33 pm

This goes out to anyone who has an H&R Block Emerald Card. Originally I received this card to have my RAL deposited on it back in 2005, I believe, when it first came out. I use it daily. My paycheck is direct deposited on it. It has an account number and routing number to give your employer. This year instead of going to H&R block to file, I filed free online through the irs.gov website, found H&R Block TaxCut to free file with. I used my account number(not the card number) and routing number to have the IRS direct deposit my refund. So I will get my Stimulus payment direct deposited to that card because I filed with the irs and not through a lender for rapid refund. This is just an FYI for next year to anyone who pays someone to get their taxes done to get money faster. I only waited 8 days for the Refund through the IRS, so it’s well worth keeping the card account. And also, you don’t have to get H&R block card to do this either. ANY prepaid debit card, even walmart’s will work like any checking or savings debit card. Just have to shop around for availability of loading and any fees. This is a worry free card. If the money’s not there you can’t bounce a check! Just declines you.

  83. TJRouse on May 3, 2008 10:35 pm

Why is it ther’s so much talk regarding stimulus? When noboby has the answers. Lets appreciate the fact we are getting it and WAIT!!!!!

  84. Nicole on May 4, 2008 8:22 am

I e-filed with turbo tax but I didn’t get a refund so i paid the filing fees in addition to having my taxes withdrawn from my account. My ss ends in 18 and I did not receive any money as of today. I also checked the “status” and they said there was no information. It’s hard to just appreciate the vague possibility of getting this money when you have tight finances and planned on a schedule of payments.

  85. Peter on May 4, 2008 4:36 pm

Funds/payments are not being “wired” which means you will have to wait until it posts to your account by direct deposit. Just because they have it sent out that don’t mean you will get it that day. It has to go through the banking system from their end to your banks end. Most direct deposits are not instant like wire transfers.

  86. Peter on May 4, 2008 4:40 pm

oh i forgot to mention… most banks don’t post on Monday’s but could post 12:01 am Tuesday morning.

I think that everyones payments should have been sent out on the same day so that many people wouldn’t be so confused by it and in reality it isn’t fair to others who really need it.

  87. Joe on May 4, 2008 6:07 pm

They just postponed the Stimulus Refund project. The chinese bank recalled the loan and the US Gov states that they will start sending out the refunds early fall. Oh well, too good to be true.

  88. CM on May 4, 2008 10:06 pm

Mine end in 17 and I have yet to get mine. It should have been in by 5/2 right?

I checked the site and it said

“We are sorry. Specific information about your Stimulus payment is not available.”

I tried on my SSN and my boyfriend. Both with the same reply.

    Hopefully soon….
    Geez….

  89. CM on May 4, 2008 10:07 pm

I’ll believe it when I see it.

  90. darlene on May 4, 2008 10:30 pm

Is it true about the post that we may not see payments now til’ early fall?

I don’t believe it but I read a post from someone on here that said that…

  93. kris on May 4, 2008 11:16 pm

It would be nice if you specified the last 2 social #’s and if you are direct deposit…used what filing system and if you had fees taken out of your refund…then questions would be answered better…I’m in the same boat…direct deposit..used taxact..paid my fees with bank card..last 2 are 24 and irs cant find info on us…though its supposed to be Direct deposited tomorrow…hmph?!?!?

  94. Kathi on May 5, 2008 4:56 am

Well my ss #63 Today’s the 5th no deposit yet. Any other updates yet ? Not that the updates are working, but thanks for the venting they should of not even gave dates then we would not all be worrying and waiting like this

  95. Amy on May 5, 2008 6:15 am

My last two digits are 33 and I did direct deposit. It is Monday, May 5, 2008 and I do not have my money in my account. Is there a certain time of day that these go into the account? I am a single mother and I am counting on that money.

  96. kris on May 5, 2008 9:17 am

I just checked the irs site….goto wheres my refund and there is a link to wheres my stimulus refund….it is just today giving me my date of deposit…so if you are scheduled for this 2nd wave….it should say so now…before it told me i have wrong info blah blah…says mine is the 9th not today and my number is 24…good luck everyone!

  97. tomeka on May 5, 2008 9:17 am

I did my taxes through Turbo tax and paid the fees with my bank card. the last two digits of my SSN are 60-69 and I am scheduled to have the direct deposit on May 9th. I just checked the http://www.irs.gov website where’s my stimulus payment link and my information finally came up. I will have it on May 9th. Last week I checked and it gave me the no information check back later message. Hope this helps!!

  98. NY on May 5, 2008 11:08 am

yeah they finally updated the system, phew. It says it should be here by the 9th, and if it’s not here by the 14th (for those of us in the second round of direct deposit), then you can call them and yell at someone lol.

Does this mean that they will still be sending money out at all days and times during the week? So there is a possibility of getting it earlier?

  99. Sherri on May 5, 2008 11:21 am

My brother got his on friday, but his bank didn’t show it on his account till today, his # is 34 and is in the second wave. Daily deposits are being done, so keep checking. My number is 56 so hopefully soon I’ll have mine.

  100. bonzaikitten on May 5, 2008 11:22 am

Ending in 72 and don’t have mine yet, though the website said before May 9th. Who even knows what that means.

Is there a time of day they post, or is it overnight like all DD’s?

  101. Joe on May 5, 2008 12:18 pm

My SS ends in 43 and I received it this morning. If you’re social ends in 00-75 (at this point) and have not received your refund yet, then you probably are not qualified to receive, or will get a paper check (sometime through the summer).

  102. NY on May 5, 2008 12:21 pm

Joe, that’s not necessarily true. Mine ends in 63 and it says im scheduled to receive by may 9th. You just might be one of the lucky ones who got it in first wave

  103. bonzaikitten on May 5, 2008 12:21 pm

    The website said:

“Your payment of $300.00 is scheduled to be deposited to your bank on May 9, 2008″

So…am I not getting one/getting paper check? If so they should really adjust their site so I’m not obsessively checking it all week.

  104. carol on May 5, 2008 12:32 pm

Idk where you came up with those dates ..they are not true..All payments are comming on dates on irs website..Im a 39 and Im scheduled to be in my bank on 9th.I went to see my stimulas on Irs page and it told me how much and date of deposit.

  105. kris on May 5, 2008 12:51 pm

The web site said my amount and that it was to be deposited the 9th…now when I went back once again it says no ifo on it…ugh

  106. kris on May 5, 2008 1:04 pm

check again cause it says my info is not there on the wheres my stimulus..let me know if your info still shows. This am it said the 9th now it says again no info

  107. kris on May 5, 2008 1:07 pm

LOl…But when i call the 800 number still says may 9 and how much my deposit is lol..oh well..Happy to recieve anything at this point!

  108. bonzaikitten on May 5, 2008 1:23 pm

Still, does anyone know what time they deposit? Someone told me 2pm, and then someone else told me overnight like a regular dd.

  109. kris on May 5, 2008 1:30 pm

it varies with each bank…smaller old fashioned banks process slower

  110. bonzaikitten on May 5, 2008 1:35 pm

Ah. Yeah, it’s bofa, so probably would’ve had it by now if I were getting it today.

  111. Melissa on May 5, 2008 1:50 pm

My ss# ends in 14 I elected direct deposit and mine still hasn’t shown up at the bank as of today?

  112. Sara on May 5, 2008 2:17 pm

I’m 25 and still nothing. I’m confused as to why some websites say we should all have it by today, while the IRS site says the 9th. Who to believe? I just want my check, I’m counting on it for bills. I just wish they would give an exact date so I will stop checking my bank account

  113. Crystal on May 5, 2008 2:36 pm

When the status website is busy it may tell you no info. If it has given you your info at this point you will get it this week even if it is now saying no info. Theres probably 50 million people checking it right now and no software system is perfect. If it says you are getting $300 by May 9th then they will issue a DD by May 9th for that amount but it may not go through your bank until Monday. With my bank anything sent to them posts immediately but all banks are not the same.

Why do single get 300.00 but married get 600.00 each person?

I was told 600.00 and 300.00 each kid under 17 then I see 300.00 and 300.00 each child under 17.

I have HOH and 2 exemp. Anyone know what I “should” get?

Is it 600.00 or 900.00? Thanks, CM

My last two ssn # are 02 i thought i was going to get mine dd by May 2. I guess if you had ur fees deducted YOU are getting it mailed. The IRS website says my check will be mailed out by May 16.

  118. jamie on May 5, 2008 3:24 pm

just wondering if i will still get my direct deposite on my emrald card from h&r block. I live in the state of minnesota. And my last 2 numbers of ss is 37. I have not been keeping up with the news about this money.

  119. Chris on May 5, 2008 3:32 pm

    Sara,
The official payment schedule is the one to go by. I re-published it here: http://wealthyreader.com/articles/irs-economic-stimulus-package-tax-rebate-details/#payment-schedule

  120. kris on May 5, 2008 4:17 pm

    its 600 single and 1200 married…then 300 per child

  121. Michael on May 5, 2008 6:23 pm

I can only kinda clear up one thing.
Amy, my SS 33 also. My info on irs site said on Fri 5/2 it was “scheduled” to be DD today. It wasn’t @ 3AM when I left for work, it WAS @ 6 PM when I got home.(as a “pending transaction! My bank sucks! probably heard the rumor about China calling in the note and put a hold on it!)
I filed w/turbo tax on Free file 2/02 and refund was deposited on 2/08.
to whom it may concern, I filed a 1040 shorter form for my mom who has been on SS for 30 years, free file turbo tax approx end of March and it was accepted so I’ll get her info and post later.(Mom gets 300)
Thanks to everyone on Wealthy Reader, it was great reading and typing to you
    Michael

  122. CM on May 5, 2008 6:33 pm

thanks kris, a lady i work with said her son got 300 for self and 300 for child only totaling 600.00, that is why i was confused.

    thanks again!

hopefully i will be getting mine sooner than later.

  123. CM on May 5, 2008 6:34 pm

when does a person only get 300.00? single with no deductions? i am totally confused still…. ugh!

  124. Crystal on May 5, 2008 7:26 pm

A person only gets $300 if they either dont normally file taxes due to social security or other un-earned income or depending on the amount they paid into taxes. I am married with four children but everyone assumed I would get $2400..I will only get $1800. The breakdown is $1200 ($300 for each child) and we only paid in $600 in taxes. They were very misleading by stating single $600 and married $1200 because not everyone will get that maximum amount. Hope that answers your question.

  125. Michael on May 5, 2008 8:03 pm

    Crystal,
That is very misleading and it does answer the question. “Depending on the amount they paid in Taxes.” my mom, a widow, on ss paid nothing, she gets 300. I’m single, (no children), paid 1460 in taxes and I get 600. I read everything I could about this thing, and I thought Mom gets 300, she didn’t pay taxes, and I get 600, I paid taxes, but You and your hub didn’t pay enough taxes? so you get 300 each? I missed that somewhere

  126. Crystal on May 5, 2008 8:38 pm

Yeah…if you dont pay taxes you get $300. My husband had over $3000 withheld last year but we were only required to pay $533 because of exemptions and child credit. We got a really good refund but as far a stimulus we wont get the maximum amount because we didnt pay in that much. Its all very confusing!

  127. Jacqueline Monroe on May 5, 2008 8:53 pm

I am a tax preparer and from what I’ve gathered from the excerpt about Turbo Tax, it seems to me that anyone who chose the RAL option for their refund with any software company will be getting a paper check. I have clients who should’ve received direct deposit but have noticed they did choose RAL with Santa Barbara Bank. We are waiting to see if there will be a check cut on May 9th which will only confirm my theory about all tax returns that were received through a RAL program. If anyone should also confirm this information please advise so that I may pass along the information.

  128. Sherri on May 5, 2008 9:06 pm

Here’s the thing I don’t get. The tax money I paid in 2006 matches the amount I’m getting back. Plus my three kids. I thought I was getting less than the irs website said I was scheduled to get. Any one else notice this with their tax rebate?

  129. Michael on May 5, 2008 9:31 pm

    Crystal
The part I don’t get is “what do they consider to be enough taxes?”
If your husband paid 601 would that be enough?
533 not? Where did they draw the line?(I didn’t even know there was a line!)

Sherri, 2006, as far as i know, doesn’t figure in, it’s the 2007 tax return they are basing this on.
“SHOW ME THE MONEY” I’ll stimulate the the auto parts store! My car needs some attention!

  130. Sherri on May 5, 2008 9:36 pm

    Michael.
That’s exactly what I thought too. I estimated my taxes from the 2007 tax return. So when I saw how much I was getting back I was confused. I was getting more than I thought. The tax from 2006 matches the stimulus. I just want to find out if anyone else noticed there 2007 tax don’t match stimulus refund, if so, does it match 2006 tax paid? Just curious.

  131. Crystal on May 6, 2008 6:02 am

I dont know yet exactly what Im getting back so I dont know if it matches 06 or 07. As far as not paying anough taxes…its not that you didnt pay enough its the fact that some of us have a large amount of withholding during the year and get mostly all of that back in your tax refund. So they are actually basing it on the part of it you didnt get back. And about turbotax, every tax professional and IRS agent that I have spoke with says turbotax is not RAL. Those who used it and paid there fees up front still get DD, those who paid their fees from their refund will get a paper check. This is because your actual account info isnt sent to the IRS. If you did get an RAL from Protax or somewhere where you get it back in 24 hours or so you will get a paper check.

  132. bonzaikitten on May 6, 2008 11:21 am

    72 and still nada…

  133. Sheree on May 6, 2008 12:00 pm

Well, as I figured Bush got it wrong again. The stimulus payments from what I was told only went to certain people on the 28th of April. I have spoken with a couple of people from the irs and treasury dept and they informed me that it was just a certain group of people with the social ending with 00-20.

  134. pcue on May 6, 2008 12:02 pm

    54 and nada also

  135. Crystal on May 6, 2008 12:48 pm

    bonzaikitten,
You’re will probably not be issued through DD until Friday morning which means it might not show in your bank until Monday or Tuesday(depending on the bank). What they are doing is dividing it up where they make deposits on Mon, Tues, Wed & Fri so I would assume they would go out in chronological order. If you SSN ends in 72 and its not showing your status yet on the status page of the IRS website you will most likely be getting a paper check if you are leigible for the stimulus payment.

  136. ericka on May 6, 2008 1:00 pm

i was just wondering on my taxes i claimed my neice and nephew because they lived with me for 9 mths last year. i was just wondering if i am gonna recieive the 300 per child seeing as tho they are noy my children? please give me any information available. thank you.

  137. Chris on May 6, 2008 1:29 pm

    Ericka,
Were they both under 17 and did you claim a child tax credit for them?

  138. bonzaikitten on May 6, 2008 1:37 pm

Nope, it showed on the irs that my DD would be sent May 9. I was kinda hoping it’d be early :)

  139. Michelle on May 6, 2008 3:03 pm

Can someone please tell me why does it matter if you used turbo tax to do your taxes for a DD. if your bank info is on the 1040 form why does it even matter? I think this was very misleading, saying if you had direct deposit your rebate check would be direct deposit, all of this comes out after the fact.

  140. Trish on May 6, 2008 4:01 pm

    Michelle -
This is what I’ve read from the VP of TurboTax on another thread.

TurboTax uses or used Santa Barbara Bank & Trust as a “3rd” party entity, meaning that although you see your information pertaining to your checking/savings account on your tax forms does not mean that the IRS got the same information. In other words, you submit your info to TurboTax, you’re getting a refund, you want it sooner than snail mail so you pay the fee to have it sooner. Now here’s the tricky part.

IF you chose to have your fee taken from your refund amount then SBB&T stepped in and set up a ‘dumbie’ account for your refund. THAT’S the account # the IRS got, NOT yours. Once you receive your refund then it’s closed.

HOWEVER, if you elect to pay for these fees via a debit card/credit card then the IRS will have YOUR checking/savings account # on file.

Credit card paying customers will get DD.
Choosing to have your fees deducted from your refund will get paper check.

These stimulus/rebate checks weren’t announce with certain until late February so anyone that filed before then didn’t have to read the fine print about receiving theirs sooner because there wasn’t any information pertaining to this yet.

Unfortunately it’s a mess all around and my one wish is that everyone get their checks sooner than that stupid schedule.

I hope this answers your question Michelle.

  141. CM on May 6, 2008 9:00 pm

SSN 17 and still nothing in bank DD as of 5/6/08 9:59 PM EST.

    GRRR… I give up.

  142. kris on May 7, 2008 12:51 am

did you check wheres my stimulus yet?

  143. Michael on May 7, 2008 5:05 am

I am in the second round of payments to be direct deposit. If you opted for direct desposit, how is it they can change that and issue you a check? The only way that would happen is if your bank refused it, then you would be issued a paper check. THE IRS with this new super computer is BS. There is no form or order that they are going in. This is a hurry up and wait situation. I’m getting the same message on the irs site, information not avaiable. I just stop checking for it very frustration. Like someone said I wish they never gave out any dated at all.

  144. Crystal on May 7, 2008 5:49 am

If you opted DD and your account information is in the IRS system you will get DD. But like most of us, we used a third party to help file our taxes and even though on our end of the 1040 form it shows our account info, when they submit it electronically it converts to their account info (if your fees were taken from your return). If we all knew this when filing we could have had it changed but it is too late now.

  145. Michael on May 7, 2008 10:28 am

    Crystal
Great clear explaination. The 3d party fees are like a lien,(dictionary: right to hold another’s property until a debt is paid.)
The 3d party fees are the debt, the property is the refund. The property is DD’d to the lien holder, the debt is payed, and the rest is transfered to us. Until you posted I didn’t understand how routing #’s could changed to the 3d party account but the lien definition clears that legal part up for me, If I’m applying the definition correctly.
(I love the Law but sometimes it gives me a headache!)
I read all the posts on here for the last few days and I wish everybody the best spiritual, social, economic, mental, and physical well being!

  149. pcue on May 7, 2008 1:14 pm

I dont think the IRS web-site is saying anything for anyone, I have been trying since Monday to get my onfo and my daughters and all it says is SORRY NO INFO AVAIL….Its just going to be a wait and see game, I bet most of us will see it come the end of June or early July…

  150. Dave on May 7, 2008 1:35 pm

Since people are sharing their experiences, here is mine. I used Turbo Tax, paid me fees upfront for e-file and got my refund direct deposit. I used the “Where’s My Stimulus Payment” form on the IRS website. It stated that I would get DD on May 6th. Sure enough, it showed up in my account on the 6th.

  151. Crystal on May 7, 2008 1:54 pm

If the IRS website says Sorry No Info, it is because your payment has not been scheduled yet. If you are getting DD it should already state your info (those of you in the third wave may not see a status until Thrus or Fri). If you are getting a check it will not post on the status until the week your check is scheduled to be sent out. My uncle gets SS and last night the system updated to tell me that his check will be mailed by May 16 (the last two of his ssn is 04).
    Eric,
Did you file on your own or use a third party where you pay fees to file? If you paid fees to file and you did not pay them up front, you will be getting a paper check no matter how your refund was received.

  152. pcue on May 7, 2008 5:41 pm

Ok My Niece, is here and she gor me by DD on the 5th, and she did her taxes through Taxact and had her fees deducted from the amount of her refund, so I was lucky was able to get threw to an actual person on the IRS 1-800# to ask about that topic, the man I spoke to was very helpful and said that they were being flooded with this question, and also said that if you did you taxes threw taxact, turbo etc,,, and had your fees deducted from refund, that does NOT mean you will be getting a check rebate, if you have DD then that is how your rebate will be coming, I just thought i would share this, since its been such a topic on many boards..
    have a good night everyone

  153. Trish on May 7, 2008 6:45 pm

I disagree with this pcue because we did our taxes with TurboTax & had ours taken out of our refund and DD and our SS# is **17, which meant that we should have had our rebate on May 2nd or close to that date. And we DO know that we are getting a stimulus payment, unfortunately we haven’t received ours as of today’s date and we went through the 3rd party SBB&T.

When checking on the IRS website and inputting our information in, it comes up with NO information about when our check will come. Even if we receive a check because we’re in the 2nd batch according to their schedule which will be May 23rd.

  154. Paula on May 7, 2008 7:31 pm

hey i we are a 50 my husband has it under his name and were gettin a papaer check will i get it when it says so

  155. Paula on May 7, 2008 7:36 pm

and we have 1 kid on the refund… i did the lil tax estimating stimulas refund thing earlier in the year and it said it would be mailed no later than…may9th…i believe that thing on the IRS schedule

  156. Paula on May 7, 2008 7:39 pm

we have 1 kid and filed jointly and i did the esitmation and it told me it would be mailed may 9th…do i go by what the chart says

  157. Crystal on May 7, 2008 8:12 pm

    pcue,
The IRS told me the same thing..what you need to ask them is which account info they have on file…if they have your account info you will get DD, if they have SBBT or turbotax account info you will get a paper check. Truth is I talked to four different IRS agents and they all told me something different.

  158. Michael on May 7, 2008 9:48 pm

    Thanks Crystal!
You have a great talent getting info across in a way that even I can understand it.
I hope you are a nurse or teacher or something that involves that talent.
Nice meeting you and “back at ya” times 2!

  159. Coe on May 7, 2008 9:57 pm

The government.. you gotta love it! NOT! When we owe them, it’s pay it now or else.. when we are owed something it’s “you’ll get it when you get it” Don’t worry same goes for military pay.. if your overpaid then GIVE IT ALL BACK NOW and when they under pay you.. you will get it in installments when they feel like it! But anyway…..The irs websites section about this payment states that if your payment was split into two different bank accounts YOU WILL RECEIVE A CHECK. When you don’t pay your fees up front when using a tax program (like anyone knew that it would do this) and have your fees for filing taken out of your refund YOUR REFUND IS THEN SPLIT INTO TWO ACCOUNTS no matter if you did get your part direct deposited into your account the company had to get paid…. It’s all a bunch of pooh!

  160. Crystal on May 7, 2008 10:05 pm

Ironically Michael, Im going to college to be a nurse. Thanks!!!

  161. pcue on May 8, 2008 5:51 am

Your right Crystal I didnt even think to ask that
    Anyway’s have a great day everyone :)

  162. Michael on May 8, 2008 6:12 am

Thank you Crystal! A nurse is perfect!
I’m an old person and with that comes a lot of hospital visits and way too many deaths.
Each nurse’s face, that spoke with me and explained my loved one’s condition, in the same way that you explained this stimulus thing, is etched in my mind.
My fiance had a heart attack at 45 years old.
(Feb 2005) she passed July 14. I remember every caregiver’s face and words in the CCU those days before she passed away.
Sorry I took so much of your time but I can not say enough about the nursing profession!Kim had a plaque on a wall in her kitchen,”LIVE WELL, LAUGH OFTEN, LOVE MUCH”
in her memory I wish that for you, your husband, and your children.

  163. Leslie Scott on May 8, 2008 9:01 am

I filed my 2007 Federal Return via TurboTax. I owed taxes which I paid via Direct Debit from my checking account. I elected direct deposit to receive my economic stimulus payment. Any ideas when I will receive my economic stimulus payment?

  164. Chris on May 8, 2008 9:17 am

    Leslie,
Like me since you paid in you’ll get your check in the mail according to the schedule here: http://wealthyreader.com/articles/irs-economic-stimulus-package-tax-rebate-details/#payment-schedule

  165. Connie on May 8, 2008 9:56 am

We owed (and paid) taxes this year to the IRS. We did not receive a letter stating that we would get a check, but using the calculator we should get $600. My question is….If we PAID taxes this year are we also eligible for a stimulus check?

  166. Connie on May 8, 2008 9:59 am

This is an addendum to my previous post asking if we would receive a check if we PAID taxes….We did pay them…electronically by credit card. How will we receive our check?

  167. Chris on May 8, 2008 10:55 am

    Connie,
If you qualify you will get a check. The IRS does not have your direct deposit info unless you put in on the form. Use the calculator to see if you qualify: http://www.irs.gov/app/espc/

  168. marilyn on May 8, 2008 12:04 pm

where did you joe see that at give the web site for that

  169. Chris on May 8, 2008 12:55 pm

    Marilyn,
I think Joe was joking. I deleted his comment as there is already enough confusion regarding the stimulus payments.
    Thanks

  170. Crystal on May 8, 2008 3:21 pm

If you owed taxes or if you received Socail security benefits, you may still be eligible for a stimulus payment but it will be by mail. My grandmother receives SS and I filed for her and put her bank info on her 1040 but because she did not actually get a refund of any sort, she wont get direct deposit. No matter how you paid, if you paid taxes you will get a check (if you are eligilble). Just keep checking the stimulus status or call the IRS and find out if you are eligible.
    Michael,
Thanks for your kind words. I hope everything goes well for you. I too have spent alot of time in the hospital, either for myself or some family member. Both of my grandfathers passed last year and thats when I decided to go for the nursing. Anyway, good luck with the stimulus, and God Bless you…you are in my prayers.

  171. Sheila on May 8, 2008 6:22 pm

Chris, Crystal, Michael, and all that has helped all of us stimulus payment hopefuls out.. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!! You all have answered so many questions about this topic and I know I appreciate it as I’m sure the others do as well… AGAIN THANK YOU!! You get better customer service on here than calling the IRS!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!

  172. melissa on May 8, 2008 9:49 pm

What if you are supposed to get your check on the 4th of July. Will it be mailed sooner or later, since that is a holiday?

  173. melissa on May 8, 2008 9:50 pm

What if your check is supposed to come on the 4th of July? Thats a holiday.

  174. pcue on May 9, 2008 6:42 am

    Good Morning everyone
I just checked my bank account, And lucky me there was my rebate check it was there, And i did do my taxes threw Taxact and did have my fees deducted from my refund to pay the taxact fees so maybe it is the luck of the draw with this issue, Like i said the other day i did my nieces taxes the same way threw taxact with the fees taken from her refund also and she got hers on the 5th

  175. Chris on May 9, 2008 8:43 am

    Melissa,
That last date is probably a political gimmick. Check the official payment schedule: http://wealthyreader.com/articles/irs-economic-stimulus-package-tax-rebate-details/#payment-schedule

  176. NY on May 9, 2008 9:58 am

Just got my $600 deposited! ss ends in 60 and i filed electronically with H&R Block

  177. Angela on May 9, 2008 11:35 am

I filed my taxex through TaxAct. My social ends in 37. I haven’t recieved my stimulus payment via DD yet and when I use the “Where’s my stimulus payment” link it says that there is no information available. According to the irs website I was supposed to recieve the payment in my account by no later than May 9. Should I be worried or is there still hope that it will come?

  178. Darla on May 9, 2008 11:38 am

Is it ture that if you payed for your tax prep out of your refund but had it derect deposited that my check will be mailed to me and not deposited in my bank???????

  179. bonzaikitten on May 9, 2008 11:51 am

just letting everyone know mine direct deposited today. For the record, I did mine online and had the fee taken out of my refund.

  180. jonnyfrag on May 9, 2008 12:10 pm

Well, I am scheduled to recieve my payment today (the 9th) , the IRS website and the phone number all says that it should happen today. No student loans, no child support. E-filed with TurboTax but did NOT go through Santa Barbara bank. My original deposit was directly from the US Treasury. No deposit. Called my back and they can ‘look out there’ and see if the payment is coming but they said they show nothing. They told me ususally the they can see the deposits a couple of days early and then it magically goes in on the right date, but mine still has nothing. Anyone else who knows their ducks are in all in a row but still not getting their payment on time?

  181. marilyn on May 9, 2008 12:41 pm

is there a phone number we can call about the statis of our rebate check like the one you use to check the status of your refund

  182. marilyn on May 9, 2008 1:33 pm

hey jonnyfrag can u give me the phone number u called please

  183. jonnyfrag on May 9, 2008 2:06 pm

    866-234-2942
Please bear in mind that this is basically a telephone interface for the ‘wheres my stimulus rebate’ on the IRS website. gave me the same info and required the same info from me. Wait through the ‘We are getting slammed by phone calls so you can’t talk to a person’ message and it will let you imput your info.
You will not recieve any info different from here than you do the website’s dealie. Have your social, filing status and exemptions before calling.

  184. jonnyfrag on May 9, 2008 2:10 pm

By the way, I should point out that before you call ANY telephone number posted on a message board or something that is asking for your social etc… make sure that it is legit first. I assure you this one is (I checked it out before I called it. If you are nervous, then please check it out yourself) and it is indeed the IRS, but thought I would bring that up so folks didn’t go around typing in their personal info into strange internet numbers…

  185. Crystal on May 9, 2008 2:22 pm

How is it that some of you are saying you had your fees taken from your refund but are getting direct deposit. Whats your secret? What did you do different?

  186. Michael on May 9, 2008 2:33 pm

jonnyfrag, great advice! I got the same # on the irs.gov website. before any of you guys call 866-234-2942, or as jonny says ANY #! go to irs.gov and see it for yourself for peace of mind.

  187. Michael on May 9, 2008 2:43 pm

Crystal, I’ve been reading that myself and wondering the same thing. It shoots my “3d party has lein on refund to get the fees theory right in the butt!

  188. Crystal on May 9, 2008 2:59 pm

There was a lady in the bank today cashing a stimulus check too. I thought they were going out until today at the earliest and she said her last two is 29 and she got it Wednsday. Why? How? Its not fair to the rest of us…LOL

  189. Shannon T> on May 9, 2008 4:48 pm

If you used Turbo Tax and had your fees payed through a 3rd party bank (ie … California Trust) then you will have a paper check. That is because the IRS did not have your DD info, the 3rd party bank did. So, all of us Turbo Tax users who used the 3rd party bank to take our fees out of our refund, are waiting on snail mail. By the way, we are 99 for our last 2 and the revised date says mailed no later than July 4th.

  190. pcue on May 9, 2008 4:48 pm

My Daughter just called and she also got hers today by DD and SS is 84, and she also deducted her fees from her refund via taxact, so what ever dates there are i really dont think they are in any type of order at all, Maybe there system is just randomly sending out

  191. Sheila on May 9, 2008 7:52 pm

I heard that taxact at home (H & R block) submitted it in a different way than the other programs and it allowed the IRS to get the bank information. I am not positive about this! It’s just something I was told by a tax consultant but she does not work for H&R Block…..

I used taxact, but I paid up front for my filing fees and we are “88″ and still waiting. I guess it’s just the luck of the draw… and well that just isn’t us!

  192. Derrick on May 10, 2008 8:17 am

    Hello everyone
I have been reading all the post here for a few days now trying to keep up with this rebate mess, I got my rebate check this morning VIA postal mail, and my SS ends in 78, So I am assuming that like others have said, you just never know when its going to come in, they seem to not be going by the posted dates at all, i didnt think i would be gettting mine until early july, yes it was a nice thing to see in the mail, but i do feel for those with a lower SS that have yet to get theres..

  193. Derrick on May 10, 2008 8:20 am

Oh and one more thing I did just check the ( wheres my stimulas payment ) on the IRS website and it said no information availble, but yet i have my check

  194. Trish on May 10, 2008 9:14 am

    Derrick,
Congratulations on receiving your rebate check in the mail.

I’ve also been reading the tremendous amount of posts everyday from everyone with all walks of life and I’ve come to the conclusion that this whole IRS stimulus/rebate check thing is a clusterf*%^!

There is NO rhyme or reason as to how someone could get a check with the last SS# of 78 via postal mail yet and according to the IRS schedule those numbers are listed way down on that. While someone, us, has the SS# of 17 and STILL has not received anything.

Yes we ARE getting a stimulus/rebate check in the amount of $1,200 and yes we did go through TurboTax & unfortunately this SBB&T bank thing so we’ll be getting a paper check. Yet on the IRS schedule we’re due to get ours mailed on 5/23.

I’ve always thought that the government in whole is ’satan’ doing his work and now I firmly believe it.

WHEN we get our stimulus/rebate check is beyond me at this point. Maybe one day we’ll have that check and when we DO get it, it’s going into the savings account! I’m not putting this money back into the economy when WE the American taxpayers work harder than anyone else on this planet and yet we’re faced with rising food costs and gas prices and housing issues. It’s become a nightmare but yet no government official has seen FIT to step in and put a stop to this fiasco. Our paychecks aren’t increasing with this situation and probably won’t either.

I’m sooooo glad it’s Bushs’ last term so we can get him the heck outta there. YES the republicans are at it again, putting the American people in the whole and it’s going to take a democrat to put money back in our pockets and turn this around. Just like always….go back and do research on when we’ve had a republican in office and then a democrat….you’ll find that each republican has put us deeper into the red and then a democrat comes into office and we go back to the black. Unf*&$ing believeable that it’s come down to this!

Oh and YES I’m p*$$ed off at how our ‘fabulous’, insert sarcasm here, President & the IRS has handled this situation.

    F*&$ YOU Bush!

  195. carol on May 11, 2008 12:23 pm

I know alot of higher numbers already received the tax stimulas…im thinking they didnt have kids, they were single people that fileEz forms.

  196. Derrick on May 11, 2008 1:13 pm

Carol I’m married with three children, and filed 1040

  197. carol on May 11, 2008 5:25 pm

‘HUmm thats sounds aliitle strange that they would jump to higher #s and skip alot of lower ones. And mail it too? Whats going on with the system?

  198. Derrick on May 12, 2008 6:35 am

I think the system is just Randomly sending payments on its own, I dont think they are sticking to the dates at all, For Instances, My Sister who also has a high SS# called my wife bright and early this morning to say she checked her bank account this morning and her stimulas payment was DD, And not only that she did her taxes at H&R and had the fees deducted from her return, So whatever Payment plan they had in the begining of all this on how and when they were sending payments, there just not following, And also yesterady while at our local stop n shop, where they have the Citizens bank open on Sunday as it was my turn to reach the teller, I had heard the tellers talking about how they couldnt beleive how many rebates checks they had cashed in the past week, I am grateful that we did get ours but i do feel bad for the people with the lower numbers whom have not gotton theres, and just for the hell of it i went back on the IRS site to check wheres my rebate, and still just now its sayd no info for me, I do realize the site is being accessed, by millions who are waiting, but i think that site is just not working correctly with the information they are providing

  199. carol on May 12, 2008 9:11 am

whoooo hooo mine just came up on website..Im a 85 and going to dd friday 16!!!! The whole 1800.

  200. Joanne Wolschlager on May 12, 2008 11:21 am

okay, my ss# ends in 38 and we direct deposited our tax refund. The schedule says we should have gotten stimulus on May 9th but we didn’t. Put our information in to the IRS “where’s my stimulus check” tool and it can’t find us. What’s up? Should I call IRS?

  201. Michelle on May 12, 2008 11:23 am

My sister whom has a high ss# 97 received her check on Friday….via the mail she used h&r block had an emerald card and had the fees removed….I personally believe that they are just randomly sending checks out as I am a #60 and have received nothing yet and the website continues to tell her that there is no information on her rebate however hers is safe in her bank account…I believe the government is telling everyone a system and then doing whatever they was per usual!!!!!!

  202. Sheila on May 12, 2008 12:43 pm

Mine finally came up as well! We are “88″ so on the date of the schedule….

Here is what it says when it works….

Your total Stimulus payment was calculated as $1,800.00 and consists of the following:

    Basic Amount: $600.00.
Qualifying Child Amount: $1,200.00 (Based on 4 qualifying children).
Your payment of $1,800.00 is scheduled to be deposited to your bank on May 16, 2008. If you do not receive the credit by May 21, 2008, please contact us again. We are unable to take any action until then.

    Helpful Information:
You should receive a notice showing the amount of your payment. Please hold on to it because you will need it when you prepare your 2008 tax return.

  203. Jeff on May 12, 2008 6:56 pm

We received a notice dated May 12th (today)informing us of the amount we will receive on May 9th. However,on the back of the notice, it had a paragraph that said our return is under review and we should receive a notice explaining the delay within 60 days. When I inquire at the IRS web site, it says our information cannot be located. We filed a return early and received our refund by direct deposit.

  204. mari on May 12, 2008 7:02 pm

ATTENTION PEOPLE THESE CHECK’S DON’T COME ON THE DAY THE SCHEDULE SAY’S I STILL HAVN’T GOT MINE

  205. Molly on May 12, 2008 7:21 pm

I also used H&R block and still nothing. My SS#49 so I have continued to check the website daily and all it says is “sorry no information available “. The calculator says I should get 1500 back, but I have also been told that since I have no tax liability…I will get nothing. I entered all of my information that was on my taxes.

  206. carol on May 12, 2008 8:49 pm

Everyone I know that went to “wheres my stimulas” got the dd on the day it said. You have to make sure it tells you your gonna receive one and the ammount and how much.

  207. Susan on May 13, 2008 1:25 pm

Seems the IRS has 2 computer systems. The lucky tax payers who are getting their checks early are on the new systems. Us schmucks who haven’t gotten our checks are on the old system (as are the majority of tax payers)!!

Also, you should recieve a notice in the mail about a week before you recieve your check…

Lets hope the lady at the IRS wasn’t just blowing smoke up our butts……..

  208. Derrick on May 13, 2008 4:14 pm

Inever recieved a notice saying that i was getting a rebate, but I did get the rebate

  209. margie on May 13, 2008 7:11 pm

So is there a phone number for the irs to talk to a real person??? Not a recording. My number is 44 and still no info on the irs webstite and no money

  210. Sheila on May 13, 2008 7:32 pm

We have yet to recieve a notice in the mail but our rebate is scheduled for Friday the 16th per the IRS where is my stimulus payment and at the bottom of that it said we would get notice of the amount we “recieved” so I’d imagine the notice will come later than the actual rebate “for our records”.

  211. Sheila on May 13, 2008 7:35 pm

    Oh I forgot…

Susan, I called the IRS a few weeks ago and I heard the same thing about “two” systems that they are using and this is why “some” are getting payments early. She checked when we called and said we was not on the “new program” but would recieve payment by the scheduled date. I guess the people that filed later “after” this new system was put into it and us “early” filers have to wait because we was already in the “old” system! I always thought that the “early bird gets the worm”… guess not!

My SS last two digits is 23. The stimulus check for me was suppose to be sent on 5-9-08. I had direct deposit on my 2007 tax return yet I have not seen the stimulus check as of today 5-14-08. I did not have a fed tax refund but had a state tax refund does this have any bearing on why I haven’t received this check???????? Please reply asap and thank you.

  214. Chris on May 14, 2008 8:31 am

    Patricia A. Lopiccolo,
You said “I did not have a fed tax refund” but then you aslo said “I had direct deposit on my 2007 tax return.”

I need to know if you got a tax refund this year. If you did not then you will get a check in the mail.

  215. Susan on May 14, 2008 8:46 am

If you didn’t have a direct deposit of your federal income refund (if you didn’t have a refund you wouldn’t have use direct deposit) then you will get a check in the mail.

I used Taxcut(HR Block) and used their direct deposit account and that is why I am getting a check.

A state refund or direct deposit has no bearing whatsoever on the federal return.

    Sue

  216. Sheila on May 14, 2008 9:10 am

Susan, did you have your fees taken out of your refund? I’m still trying to figure out what the IRS is doing ~!~ One of my friends, a tax consultant (don’t work for H&R) said that the taxact program submitted it different than turbotax (I don’t see how) and even if people had their fees taken out would still get their rebate DD… I don’t think so after reading so many posts from people that they will be getting a check in the mail…..

I used taxcut at home also (paid fees up front) and my direct deposit is pending to post to our checking account for Friday the 16th, right on schedule which shocked me….

  217. Susan on May 14, 2008 9:14 am

I had them take my fees out of my refund. They set up an account for me with their bank, my refund was deposited into their account, and then they transferred it to me. I was told by the IRS if you did this through Taxcut that you would get a check, not a direct deposit…

If I would have know then what I know now, I would have just paid the fees up front, too.

    Sue

  218. carol on May 14, 2008 9:39 am

Patrica, My MOm did her taxes with tax act on line. She is 64 only filed because of property tax credit she gets from state. She had to file federal to get to the state and because she didnt have to pay or get refund on her federal they took her dd information off her fed form..we didnt know this until we looked on line at her fed form.So her # is 26 and she didnt get her dd.She has to wait for the check and hasnt received it yet and no information online or calling.

  219. Laura on May 14, 2008 11:49 am

Turbo Tax has RL- refund Transfer it isn’t rapid it is just transfering the money from the irs to ssbt(set up dummy account) and then dep into your bank account. SBBT closes the accounts when your money is dd into your bank.

  220. Sheila on May 14, 2008 10:30 pm

I noticed I put taxact instead of taxcut when I mentioned what the tax consultant said… but since she has no clue of what she is talking about it don’t matter. just wanted to clear up that I did use Taxcut at home and not taxact… sorry about that.

Ok I have a question Hopefully someone out there will have clue about this, I am married 3 children age 11, 18 and 22, My 22 year old got her DD a week and 1/2 ago, when we filed our tax return we clamied our 18 yr old as she is in school full time. I know that because my 18 yr old was claimed on our taxes she is suppose to NOT get a rebate, But yet she did in the amount of 600.00, Our rebate in the amount of 1500 will be deposited tomorrow the 16th, Now i have to tell you i am serious worried about my daughter getting this rebate, because i dont want to down the line have her get a letter from the IRS saying she owes this money back to them, she does go to school full time and works, I told her to not touch the money just incase they may want it back, my question is what the hell is going on with this rebate s*it. Should i acll the IRS and find out what happened here? Or should I let her enjoy the money and worrie later, I just dont understand how she got a rebate when we claimed her on our taxes, and i checked the “where is my stimulas paymenst ” for my wife and i and it showed ours will be DD tomorrow, HELP IM WORRIED!!!!

Did she file her own taxes and if so, did she say on her taxes that she could be claimed as a dependent on someone elses tax return?? It is a question on the 1040 or 1040EZ.

If she did not say she could be claimed as a dependent, then they got the information off her tax return and that is why she got a rebate.

I would call the IRS. If you don’t she may end up with penalties along with having to pay back the money……

    Mitch,
It’s a good idea that she does not cash that check. You claimed her on your taxes as a dependant, and that disqualifies her for receiving a rebate. I would call the irs.

Amber Love When your friend filed her taxes and received a rapid refund…did she get it on an emerald card, paper check or DD? How did she receive her stimulus payment dd or check? Not trying to be nosey, but that’s the first person to get a payment that received rapid refund..that I know of!
