Looks like I was right on target with my article about cutting waste in the goverment. On Thursday President Obama vowed to cut "stunning" waste in the US government budget, as he laid out details of his sweeping budget for 2010.
"There is a lot of money being spent inefficiently, ineffectively, and — in some cases — in ways that are actually pretty stunning,"
Why should this matter to you and how does it concern your own wealth? Simply put, if your government is wealthy that means more people will be prosperous. It's great news that Obama is eyeing waste and trimming the fat. It's common sense that when times get tough, you have to examine your spending and reign it in.
In a very real sense, your chances at attaining and maintaining your own wealth are dependant on the government's finacial health.
You might consider this a necessary surgery to save the patient or at the very least, a shot of anti-biotics. The patient getting healthier affects the entire body and trickles down to you.
I'm not saying that Obama's plan will instantly make you wealthy. But it's important to see the connection.
