If you have an Edward Jones account, you now have the option of getting your statements via email. I hated getting all that paper from Edward Jones and I think it's about time they step into the 21st century.
I've called my local office and the main number several times asking for either electronic delivery or no delivery as you can get your statements online. At the time I was told that the SEC required investment companies to send statements via mail. However, since none of my other brokerage companies told me this, I assumed the rep was either lying or misinformed.
Edward Jones has finally joined the electronic age. Edward Jones is one of the last companies (excluding my company retirement plan) to get this option.
How to Activate E-Delivery with Edward Jones
To activate electronic delivery you can log into your account via the accountlink page. Click on "Online Documents". A new window will open. Now click on "E-Delivery Options". On this page you can choose how to receive statements for each account. See the screen print below.

- Change Your Edward Jones Statement Delivery Options
I'll hold onto my Edward Jones account a little longer now. At least it's one less reason from me to dump them. I really can't believe it took that long for them to get electronic delivery.
I really get the impression the Edward Jones caters to older investors. I know many investment firms cater to older individuals as they usually have more money. However, the feeling is especially strong with Edward Jones. Most of there investor newsletters have pictures of older people. They also seem to push lot of income producing assets like bonds and certificates of deposit.
This has started to change somewhat recently, as I've noticed some of the material now pictures families and younger adults.
Edward Jones has been handling my roll over money from my previous jobs. At various points I've considered dropping them and just opening an inexpensive Vanguard account with several index funds. I really don't need a full service brokerage.
However, my investments have performed fairly well. I need to do some analysis and figure out if the extra expenses have been worth it. Now I just need a few spare hours to work on that.
