Stretching out and relaxing may cost you extra on Continental Airlines, who has become the latest airline to start charging coach passengers for seats with extra legroom. They charge you for everything else, and you put up with it, so why not?
Starting March 17, passengers in coach can buy a seat in the exit row and get 7 more inches of space. If you belong to Continental's frequent-flier program and fly at least 25,000 miles a year, you can continue to select those seats at no additional cost. Mighty nice of them.
You can buy the seats when you check in online or at the airport up to 24 hours before your flight. The cost varies. Soon they'll even charge you for how many times you go to the bathroom.
