The congressional committee that oversees the financial bailout package doesn't know where the money is going. With $335,000,000,000 already spent, Treasury Secretary Paulson is about to ask for the other $350,000,000,000.
Congressman Barney Frank is upset with the Treasury Department. Frank claims the Treasury isn't doing enough to oversee the distribution of the money. Frank wants the money to go towards mortgage relief.
It's shocking that a bill passed so quickly lacks the proper oversight and any real direction. Our government got us into this mess in the first place and now government is making it worse.
I suggest that Congress suspend this bailout program while we still have the remaining $350,000,000,000. With Obama's massive government pork projects on the horizon, we're going to need all the money we can get.
It's amazing how we've let the government lead us around. That's our money the government is wasting. When are we going to wake up and demand accountability?
I guess half the country needs to unemployed and living in the streets before we think theres a problem.
