The economy is bad, but every cloud has a silver lining. I came across an interesting article recently here. It talks about how hard economic times may make for a less messy divorce. After all, both parties can see the wisdom in not wanting to waste money on fighting in court etc.
There are retirement issues to consider, the cost of homes and more. It's well worth it to keep things calm. Couples may not want to go to court at all and may even decide to live together as they divorce. Hell, they may even stay together for purely financial reasons.
It's worth a read if you are considering divorce. Of course if one of you is a raving psycho who throws knives and puts dead animals in the others bed, you better just get out and fast.
