I'll be honest. The airlines really piss me off. Everytime you turn around, they have a new fee taking a bite out of your wallet. You know, we might not mind so much, except that they can't seem to keep a damn plane in the sky lately. Which brings me to another gripe I have with the airlines. Carelessness.
Before 911 planes were falling out of the sky at an alarming rate. The number of crashes and disasters pre-911 was obscene. Then after 911, when the government started controlling people through fear of terrorism, there were very few airline crashes compared to before 911. Practically none for the longest time. This proves that when they actually put their mind to it, they can keep people safe. Here we are in 2009 and I see a ton of airline crashes once again because they have gotten slack. Shame on them.
They'll fee you to death and failing that, they'll kill you in a crash. Oh and check out the link below for a great article on those fees.
