Someone once said that 9 out of 10 people have to work insanely hard to get wealthy, while the other guy got lucky. Here are some simple ideas that will help you make your own luck and get you on the road to wealth. It doesn't happen overnight for everyone. Slow and steady wins the race.
1. When buying appliances, look for the Energy Star brand and take into account the annual energy cost. More efficient appliances will cost you more, but they make up the extra cost in the long run.
2. Be organized. That way you won't miss any payments because the bill is sitting amid a pile of garbage in your car. By being organized, you will avoid late payment penalties. Butif you do miss a payment, you can call your creditor and ask to have the penalty removed. They’re usually happy to do it at least once.
3. Generic Medicines. Just like food, these over the counter medicines are exactly the same and cost less.
4. Get a package deal on your internet, telephone and cable. Companies offer the services combined, which usually costs less only cost less and they are all on one bill.
5. Buy refurbished electronics. By doing this you can buy cheaper computers, iPhones, even printers.
6. Get your books and DVDs from the library. How often do you read them or watch a movie? That's just throwing money out the window. It's free.
7. Stop paying credit card fees. Yeah, it's a no-brainer. The minute you fail to pay off the credit card in full, the high interest payments start hitting you. If you are too tempted to spend more than you have, it's time to cut up that credit card.
This is just to get you started. Implement all of these and start watching your money grow. I'll be back with more and soon you'll be feeling much more financially secure as you keep more of your hard earned money.
